Construction Site CCTV Hire
If you're running a construction site anywhere in NSW, you need eyes on it when the crew isn't there. We hire out solar-powered CCTV units that go up fast, don't need mains power, and let you check the site from your phone.
Why sites hire temporary CCTV
A construction site is exposed in ways a finished building isn't: open boundaries, valuable plant and materials sitting out overnight, and no one on site after the crew knocks off. Tools, generators and fixed materials are the usual targets. A visible camera on the fence line or a pole gives you a record of who came and went, and something to hand to police if equipment goes missing.
It's also useful beyond theft. A camera pointed at the site entrance can back you up if there's a dispute over deliveries, trespass, or who was on site on a given day.
How the solar units work
Our hire cameras run on solar power with a battery, so they don't need a mains connection or a generator. That makes them quick to deploy on a site where power isn't connected yet, and easy to move as hoarding, fencing or site sheds change position during the build.
Units mount to a pole, hoarding or existing structure, so there's no trenching or cabling involved in getting one up. When a stage of the build finishes and the risk moves — say, from the slab to the frame — we can reposition the camera rather than leaving it covering an area that no longer matters.
Checking footage from your phone
You get app-based access to live footage and recordings, so you or your site manager can check in from anywhere. We don't offer a back-to-base monitoring service on these units — viewing and responding to what the camera picks up is on you, which keeps the hire straightforward and the cost down.
Flexible for the length of the job
Hire is set up to match your program, not a fixed contract length. As the site moves through stages — slab, frame, fit-out — we can reposition cameras to cover wherever the risk actually is that week.
Cost
Hire pricing depends on the number of units, how long you need them on site, and access for installation and pickup.
How Saint George Group can help
We're a licensed NSW security installer (NSW master licence ML000111327) and we install CCTV, alarms and access control across the state — construction sites included. If you've read our guide on keeping a construction site secure, solar CCTV hire is usually the first thing we'd put on site. Tell us how many cameras you need and for how long, and we'll get back to you with a hire quote.
Quick answers
Do I need power run to the site?
No. The units are solar-powered with a battery, so they work on a site before power is connected.
Can I watch the footage myself?
Yes, through the app, from your phone. We don't run a back-to-base monitoring service on these units — it's self-monitored.
Can you move the camera partway through the build?
Yes. As the site changes — new hoarding, a different access point, a later stage of the build — we can reposition units to match.
